Helping Hands Chore Service, an affiliate of the Winsted Health Center Foundation, assists elderly and disabled residents remain safely and independently in their homes. Helping Hands provides chore services to residents over 60 in Winsted, Colebrook, New Hartford, and Barkhamsted. Chore workers provide services such as vacuuming, dusting, dish washing, laundry, meal preparation, light yard work, local grocery shopping, and similar services.The Helping Hands coordinator meets with clients to determine their needs before introducing them to a potential worker. All workers are local residents who wish to be of service to their neighbors.Workers are paid directly by the Chore Service, covered by liability insurance, workers compensation, and are bonded.
